Advocacy
The Charleswood Historical Society (CHS), and its members, advocate for Charleswood. The Society works to ensure that Charleswood’s interests are represented to government and to take advantage of grants and programs that help keep Charleswood a vibrant community. The CHS ensures that Charleswood history is commemorated through the placement of monuments, street and park names, plaques and other historical markers.

Caron House
One of the Historical Society’s proudest achievements is the preservation and rehabilitation of Caron House. Located at 50 Cass Street, near the Assiniboine River, Caron House was built by George Caron (circa date?) and is one of the original farmhouses on the Assiniboine River. Caron House anchors the history of Charleswood with Links to St. Charles. Caron House is preserved as a Grade One historical Building by Heritage Winnipeg and the City of Winnipeg.
Caron House proudly takes part in Open Doors Winnipeg each May.
